Red Flag is a sculpture I created in North Adams Massachusetts. The art is made from timber and garbage collected locally. The work is installed over the Hoosac River which flows through Northern Appalachia. My family comes from this small town. My father and grandfather both worked in the now abandoned mills which line the banks of the river. My mother’s family owned a smallĀ  dairy farm which provided just enough to support themselves. I love making art outside and each place my practice takes me is truly amazing. However, nothing warms my heart more than working in the Appalachian Mountains.
