Established by the Golden family of Golden Paints, The Sam and Adell Golden Foundation for the Arts is a non-profit organization that supports the arts and the environment.
The foundation is located in New Berlin, New York on 196 acres of what was once a multi-generational farm. The foundation has allowed the farmland to return back to the earth while maintaining a series of walking paths to be enjoyed by the plants, animals, and people of Chenango County.
This small clearing beneath the cover of a large ash tree was once a thriving raspberry patch. When I arrived I found only a few old fence posts and a quagmire of rusty barbed wire. What was once just a small plot of unhealthy brush became a place to relax, reflect, and enjoy nature.
